Why This Matters (and Why I’m Different)

At this point in time, I am one of only a handful of people in New Zealand who are fully certified Postural Alignment Specialists through the Egoscue Institute. That’s pretty cool, right?

But more importantly—it matters for you. Because while there are plenty of practitioners who can help with pain (GPs, chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapists), the Egoscue Method takes a different approach.

Rather than just treating the symptom, we focus on functional alignment—helping your body remember how to move the way it was designed to.

And here’s the kicker: it’s not your age that’s the problem. It’s the patterns and habits your body has built over time—sitting all day, repeating the same sport movements, or leaning on one side more than the other. Age just means you’ve had more years to reinforce those patterns.

The word “specialist” has never sat comfortably with me. You know your body best. Often, you’ve just forgotten how to listen to it. My role is to be your guide—to help you re-engage with your body, recognize its signals, and equip you with a toolkit of e-cises to bring yourself back toward alignment.
